About Abhishek Narayan Verma
Man is made up of history. I feel that unless and until I delve into my own history, I would not be able to be at creation’s front, even though I am creating a physical record of my experiences so far.
When I look at my works I feel that I am telling a story. At the same time, I feel that I am listening to a story. Art for me, in this sense, is a bridge that connects not only two spaces but two times. It is my visual history narrated through forms and colours while dabbling in arrangement at a more subconscious level.
My paintings and drawings are the conscious effort to connect with my village through all my experiences and memories. The explorative process is from the individual to the universal. I wish to exhibit a phase of the constant within the ever-changing, giving impulse a path to deliberation. What appears before me, then, is a synthesis of my senses with psychology and intellect.
