Bestcollegeart.com is for all contemporary artists and not for artists in art colleges only as we believe that we all are always in the college of life ! We also welcome artists without any formal training in art to post their works as we believe great art is made from the heart and with passion, it cannot be taught in classrooms.
You can upload your best 5 works directly on the website, the size of the images have to be 300 dpi and not more than that.
Actually you set your own price, the website charges a 40% commission on the price to pay for marketing, website hosting, administration expenses, salaries and wages of gallery employees and other costs of running a physical space in Gurgaon.
What you have to do is have an all inclusive price. If you price a work at Rs 10,000, then you will receive Rs 6000 within 30 days of the work selling,guaranteed. This initiative not only gives you a chance to sell your work but be noticed by prominent galleries and important collectors. All money earned by the website will be invested back into marketing and operational costs so that we can reach more people and have them collect art.
Please note that the advisory board of Bestcollegeart.com mandates that all income earned from this initiative should be invested back to grow the contemporary art space in India.
Please note that you cannot sell these works directly or anywhere else for the first 4 months except Bestcollegeart.com. So it will be a binding contract for these 5 works or if you decide to load lower than 5 works then please load less number of works. Please put your best art works on for galleries and collectors to notice. This has been done to ensure that collectors get confirmed delivery and when a collector books a work, he is not told that it is already sold.
Peter Nagy from Nature Morte curated the first exhibition “The Present is Now” and more than 80 % of all the works sold within 24 hours. 7 artists from various parts of the country were selected to be a part of the show. It is your chance to be noticed by him and also the collecting world.
The second show “Collective Metamorphosis” was curated by leading art collector Kapil Chopra at India’s most prominent art gallery Nature Morte. This featured the works of 5 artists with all distinctive styles.
More than anything else, this initiative puts the power of choice in your hands, you choose the works to upload and the price. We will have top curators, galleries, art collectors and critics curate an exhibition every 3 months so new collectors always have an expert advising them.
We would like all artists to be conservative with the price, do not have high prices, keep them low, and let collectors get comfortable buying your work, word of mouth will ensure you will get many buyers.
There is no charge to be on the website, we are funding the initial hosting charges for all artists. All works will be displayed for 120 days ( 4 months ) after which they will get automatically deleted from the website, this is to keep fresh content on the website always.
Once a buyer has bought an art work, you will get an email informing you of the same, our shipping company will come and pick up your work within 5 days.We pay all artists on the 7th of every month and payments are never delayed.
Please ensure that the work is not damaged and packed properly, all work below or 12 by 12 inches should be framed. It should be wrapped in bubble paper and also crated in a wooden box before it is picked up by the courier company. All work bigger in size that should be rolled carefully in a bubble paper and then in a PVC tube ready for packing.
All sculptures pricing should also include packing cost in a proper wooden crate with bubble paper and protective cushioning, if the work breaks, the broken work will be returned to the artist, hence it is important you pack it carefully. All sculpture images being loaded should give the weight of the sculpture also, this is mandatory.
Please note the curatorial board of the website will be watching for quality and price, if your works are too repetitive then we may delete them and if the price quoted is too high then the works may be deleted again. We do not accept any works more than Rs. 2,00,000 in value, that is the absolute highest and over that please email us if your pricing needs to be higher with the reasons and pricing logic.
Please note that after you have loaded the works on the website, they may take anything between 7-10 days to appear on the website.They will all be approved before they are loaded, no queries will be entertained due to too much loading pressure. All decisions of Bestcollegeart.com will be final and binding on all artists.
