The painting examines the nature of interrelations between various thoughts and their connotations. It is a contemplation on how must a reality/ dream come into being through the culmination of various elements on a microscopic level in a two dimensional space. It also explores the intersection of dream and reality and evokes a dialogue on how much of this reality is real?.
The dream argument by Zhuangzi puts forth how seemingly thin membrane is present at the interface of these two terms (dream/reality) which also fractionates them.
As Rene Descartes puts it,
“Whatever I have accepted until now has come to me through my senses but occasionally I have found that they have deceived me and it is unwise to trust completely those who have deceived us once”
I’m an interdisciplinary artist engaged in exploring the possibilities for the coexistence of
opposites, through the intersection of everyday objects and mediums in innovative
combinations. My practice involves an investigation in colors, materials, space and
philosophy. The synthesis of these concepts takes the form of paintings, photographs and
drawings. The works oscillates between the boundaries of Combines, Abstract Expressionism and Cubism steeped in materiality and movement. I’m also interested in the interaction of man with his surroundings and examining the correlation that exists between the internal and the external. With a lot of diversity in the techniques and tools employed such as acrylics, crayons, metals imposed on surfaces varying from board to canvas, the works invites for a closer inspection.
