My work is the reflection of my inner calling which speaks the language of emotion. I have been fascinated by blackboard since my childhood. The fascination continues to this day. The recurrence of clean and painted blackboard sprouted the seeds of my imagination.
Communal violence in festive season is very common in my area. Festive processions often turned violent. People carrying weapons like knifes, swords, gun, etc. is no wonder. So, my parents never allowed me to join the procession. This incident used to disturbed me. While growing up I became intolerant to violence general, communal violence in particular.
Today I see things as the influence of my childhood memories in my work and thus my art registers the intensity of those memories. The recurrence of good-bad, hope-despair, day-night, and ultimately life-death. The prevalent violence in around me disturbs me a lot. Violence ranges from social to domestic, even to political level and after all we just talk about peace.
I am working for last two years in this series, and these works are from the same series (violence). Further, I want to work in various medium in similar style so that I can understand more about my inner calling.¬¬
